Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is a zoological garden located in Vandalur, a suburb in the southwestern part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, about 31 kilometres from the city centre and 15 kilometres from Chennai Airport.

Otteri Lake, inside Arignar Anna Zoological Park, extends over 7 hectares. This is a pretty spot and a lovely place to enjoy a quiet picnic. The lake is bordered by trees and between October and December it attracts at least 70 types of terrestrial and aquatic migratory birds.

Vandalur Zoo is a truly delightful place. You could walk around the zoo, but in Chennai’s searing summers, you will get exhausted. The zoo has 8 battery operated trains. These noise free trains will take you all around the zoo and you will get to see the animals at fairly close quarters. Alternatively, you could hire bikes and pedal around.
