Sri Ventateswara Zoological Park, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park has been established on modern concepts of Zoo Management wherein the animals are exhibited in wider and near natural enclosures resembling to their natural habitat. The Park is named after the Lord Venkateswara of Seven Hills in Tirupati. Sri Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu garu, the then Hon’ble Forest Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh is the founder for establishment of this Zoological Park. The foundation stone was laid on 29.09.1987 by Sri N.T. Rama Rao garu, the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh & later it was inaugurated on 30.04.1993 by Sri K. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy garu, the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The total area earmarked for the Zoo is 680 Ha. in Tirupati Extn. R.F. out of this around 290 Ha. has been developed so far.
Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park is closed on Mondays unless it happens to be a general holiday or a festival, in which case it is open. While the visit to the park itself is enchanting and exhausting at the same time, you can take breaks now and then to admire the gorgeousgreen surroundings. The gorges, ridges, valleys and waterfalls in the environs make for an enchanting view.
